I switched over to classic mode and now IE is able to display the site properly, although I have a new problem ... In that case, best guess is you didn't set the application folder as an application in IIS and configure it for the ASP.NET framework version. So when HTTP.SYS is no longer accepting connections, no requests will make it to IIS and therefore IIS would appear to be down; but this is not correct. IIS sits on top of this driver. other
