After renaming it the class was able to be resolved in the multiple places it was being referenced, then I simply renamed it back. I'd have to copy over a dozen \src classes into over a dozen subdirectories, which would mean the slightest program change would become a nightmare.

Refresh did not work but a project clean did the trick. It was the hibernate3.jar. Clean the project or projects.
