It seems that there is a narrow, hollow column at the front of the reservoir and this appeared to have some ink in it, as a result of my mis-filling.I then aRE YOU SAYING THAT THERE HAVE TO BE COLOR TANKS IN THERE FOR THE BLACK TO WORK? And, i used no-name refill cartridges and no-name refill ink for over half the time on the home machine.This one, the home one lasted about 6 years, the other about 4+1/2. I am travelling a nd bought this pixma for travel! If this occurs, close the scanning unit (printer cover), and open it again. Inserted cartridge - works! suggestions?
Any suggestions? This is to remove the dust and residue that may have been blocking the electrical contacts from the printer. Maybe the chip is damaged [it certainly doesn't look like it] and I am at a loss as to what to do. This also applies to the InkCloners.com cloned CL series cartrides.
