So Im really glad I found this tip nevertheless as I can now at least say I tried & never buy Epson again. Yesterday the cyan ran out, which is why I tried installing a new cartridge, this didn't work nor did the other 2. To work with driver version 6.9 for example, you need cartridges/chip version 6.10 or higher (eg 6.12). The only thing you can do at this point is disable future updates and either buy a set of genuine Epson cartridges, wait until updated compatible, refillable or CISS cartridges become I'd agree if the printer had not been using them for the past 10 months.
